Hi Yvonne, thank you for inquiring! I too have done the wild rose kit several times in the past when looking to cleanse and eat better. At this stage in the game, I look more towards making healthier food choices as a way of cleansing the body as oppose to consuming cleansing herbs and supplements. Often simply cleaning up the diet (by removing offending foods & increasing beneficial ones) offers the body a more gentle cleansing approach. What can happen if one chooses to cleanse using a herbal detox is 'auto-intoxication'. This happens when the body is asked to cleanse faster and more aggressively then it can handle, and cannot remove the build up toxins that are now being released into the blood stream (too quickly) and not properly eliminated. All herbal cleansing programs should be taken on with care!
The body is pretty adaptable and when healthy dietary changes are introduced the body will function better and energy levels will increase while body fat levels drop!!
I hope that helps.

I've done the 12-day Wild Rose Cleanse a few times now and the diet above is very similar. Would you recommend the supplements that come with the "Wild Rose Kit" or is it not necessary? And thanks for the great information :)

Way to go Jay,

from training you guys this week I'd say you were both feeling a little fatigued earlier in the week (as Mel and I were, also) as a result of the body starting to detoxify and learn to work a little differently without alcohol, so much caffeine and simple sugars. Hopefully like us, you'll be feeling way better now the first couple of days are out of the way!
See you in the gym on Monday!
